The Oklahoma State Cowboys won their first Big 12 Tournament game since 2014. In Bedlam round three. To keep the NCAA Tournament hopes alive, and, perhaps, keep OU out of the big dance.
OSU fans couldn’t have asked for a much better win from their beloved Cowboys.
The conference tournament means a “new season” and a fresh start, which is what made Oklahoma such a scary team to face in the first round … but that didn’t faze the Cowboys, clad in their “Cursive Cowboy” jerseys.
Oklahoma State led by double digits through much of the first half. Oklahoma made runs that made the game too-close-for comfort, but OSU had no problem quickly regaining leads and letting OSU fans let their hair down. Big defensive efforts from Mitchell Solomon and classic Lindy Waters threes gave the Cowboys the edge over the Sooners.
HALFTIME Oklahoma State 39 Oklahoma 28
The Cowboys set the tone for the second half not missing a single beat. A huge Cam McGriff dunk sparked the Cowboys and, at least should have, set them over the edge for the rest of the game.
Oklahoma cut the lead to single digits multiple times, but OSU had no real troubles beating the Sooners.
FINAL Oklahoma State 71 Oklahoma 60
UP NEXT The Cowboys have yet another shot at the almighty KU Jayhawks tomorrow at 1:30. Should the Cowboys beat Kansas a third time, they should be an absolute lock for the NCAA Tournament. As for the Sooners, they are on the bubble at best at the moment.
