The Cowboys played amazing defense against the Auburn Tigers in today’s win. Behind Jawun Evans‘ game-high 22 points and 7 rebounds, the Cowboys won their first true road game of the season. The Cowboys’ played amazing defense in tonight’s game holding Auburn’s Kareem Canty to just 10% from the 3-point line. Canty had 4 turnovers in the game and he was 30% overall shooting from the floor.
Between the great defense and Evans’ 22 points, the Cowboys had two other players to score in double digits. Chris Olivier hit some big shots for the Cowboys scoring a total of 16 points on 9 shots. Olivier was 4 of 6 from the stripe, with 2 rebounds on the night. Leyton Hammonds scored 10 points on the night with 6 rebounds.
Auburn shot less than 30% from the field tonight and the team shot just over 20% behind the arc. The Cowboys defense was tenacious tonight in their win over Auburn. Hopefully, we will see this great effort on defense in the next game for the Cowboys when they play another road game against a 12-8 Texas Tech team this Wednesday at 8 p.m. Central. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
